Title: Language of Craft in Contemporary Art, Southeast Asia
CULT Gallery will be showcasing selected artists from South East Asia who use craft language in their contemporary art practice. The contemporary art and craft exhibition will highlight the rich and diverse artistic exploration in the region that reflects craft traditions in their culture, revealing different ways they respond to the techniques and philosophies or indirect influences of their countries' artisans. Contemporary works will be displayed alongside works of selected master artisans by CULT Gallery to highlight the intersectionality of craft and contemporary art. Public programming throughout the show will center on the intersectionality between craft and contemporary art in Southeast Asia and the Indian Ocean.
